Our New York correspondent recently clued us in on up-and-coming Guatemalan-born designer Manuel de la Cruz, whose Spring 2010 collection entitled ‘FAITH’ certainly caught our attention. Classic shapes are interpreted in an edgy, fresh way and we’re definitely loving the ‘rock priest’ look! The collection spans both menswear and womenswear, in delicate neutrals with shots of strong colour and sharp tailoring. One to watch!

We’re eagerly awaiting the return of Gossip Girl to our screens, and amidst rumours (Chuck kissing a guy to make Blair Jealous?), sightings (Hillary Duff at NYU?) and more rumours (Taylor Momsen can actually walk unsupported!), we’ve recently caught a few glimpses of our favourite New Yorkers out and about. Now I know this is technically costume but hey, while we can only dream that Penn Badgley can put this together on his own…you can!
Those of you who know me are probably familiar that my legs are akin to those of chickens. As such, I’m fairly partial to a good pair of skinny trousers (Nudie’s Long John being my favourite). Skinny as they may be, jeans fortunately preserve the last skerricks of my man-dignity (even if they don’t cover my arse). When the term ‘meggings’ first arose in class, I was mortally terrified. I have long been on a campagin trail waging war against ‘jeggings’ (jeans/leggings hybrids) and all that subscribe to the ‘tights as pants’ theorem (LiLo, I’m looking at you) – so naturally, you must understand my concerns at putting men in – for lack of a better word – tights.
Imagine then, my surpirse, when Maison Martin Margiela offered up these:
BANANAS. I would wear these (provided I hadn’t shaved and grown my hair to a suitably grungy length) in a heartbeat.
But what are your thoughts? Should Meggings remain firmly entrenched on the catwalk? Are they the uniform of a new generation of rockers? Or are they hideous, and shame shame shame on me?
So in case you’ve been hiding under a rock for the past few weeks, every damn talk show in the world has featured Mr Efron yakking about his new film, 17 again. I noticed a trend with all these viewings – his stylist seems to be on holidays. Every appearance has constituted a block colour shirt in grey/blue/grey blue and skinny blue jeans. Now don’t get me wrong – it’s a look we’re happy to endorse and one I’m known to pull out from time to time – but with recent appearances on The View, Ellen, The Today Show, Graham Norton Show, SNL…

Snap Snap, Mr Kravitz – our spies spotted this savvy shooter out about about in Paris this weekend and after challenging said rockstar to a snap-off, we snapped up the opportunity to check his threads!
Now before you all get your sea legs and throw me overboard, I’m by no means endorsing dressing like Captain Mayer here – especially the hat and the *cough* hardware. BUT we do love us some nautical chic…see how we’re rockin this particular boat!
While lost in the Congo last weekend, I was chased by a large Tiger. I thought to myself, it is very possible that the very thing I need to get myself out of this feline dilemma is a sweatshirt with a picture of said tiger on it.
